Possibly *the* queer album of the decade, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is the breakthrough powerhouse of American singer Chappell Roan. From singing about performing in gay bars (Pink Pony Club) and a cheerleader inspired anthem (Hot To Go) to missing her hometown (California), Chappell covers a range of emotions in what is one of my favourite albums I have discovered this year. Yes I am late, but better late than never.
